Dan’s Toy Shop has started doing a “Charity of the Month” program, starting with the month of December.   We start the donation off with $100 and will match all donations.  Our Charity of the Month at Dan’s for May is the Rose Ranch Animal Rescue  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GJnpPbU-8U&feature=share).  This organization is run by a friend of ours, Michael Howell.  He takes in unwanted/stray animals and gives them a home.  It costs over $1200 a month for him to feed these animals.  Please help us raise money this month for an awesome charity.  Remember, whether you choose to donate in person at Dan’s Toy Shop or directly to Michael, we are matching donations 100%!  So, stop by our shop or mail in your donation.  Last month we raised $120 for the Southern Arizona Center for Sexual Abuse.   Help us be successful this month too!

Dan’s Toy Shop has partnered with Low Cost Rides of Tucson to provide ride service for our customers.  This MUST be scheduled in advance!  They are not an on-call or on-site service.  Let us know if you need a ride, what day, what time and the address.  A driver will be here at that exact time, so please be courteous and show up when scheduled.  The driver will also come back to pick you up and bring you back to the shop, generally in the afternoon/early evening.  The charge for the ride service is $10 round trip.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

It’s true. Angela is back at the shop (at least part time).  She will be there for a few hours each day as she can stand it.  She does need to take it easy.  She will be answering the phone, but you may not see her.  She will be resting easy and not really interacting with the public face-to-face.  Thank you all for being so patient, understanding and kind during her absence.

I just got back from the doctor’s office.  On Tuesday, January 24th, I will be having another back surgery.  This time it will be a spinal fusion.  That being said, things are going to be a little hectic and crazy at Dan’s Toy Shop while this is happening.  I am not 100% sure of the recovery time but I do know that it involves several days in the hospital.  Please be patient with us and any flexibility you can give would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much for your continued support.  We couldn’t do it without you! – Angela

Dan’s Toy Shop is pleased to announce that we have partnered with a local transportation company, Low Cost Rides (lowcostrides.com), to provide ride service for our customers.  The service is available free of charge.  The only requirement is that we need a specific time you will be here at the shop as well as a destination.  Rides must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance.  That’s it!  If you have any questions, please let us know.

I’m not much of a blogger, I’m more of a Facebook fanatic.  I will most likely use this page for news or anything that we deem important (recalls, cool articles, etc).  Of course, the same information will be on Facebook.  And, even though it says posted by “Dan,” it is Angela that does all the Facebooking and stuff with the website.
